Joint Detection Equalization on Nonlinear Fourier Transform based optical Communication

We propose a joint detection based equalization scheme of noise, which is caused by the Nonlinear Fourier Transform itself. In experiments we use a 4-ASK-8-PSK modulation scheme with fundamental solitons. We achieve a gain of 4.4 dB at a bit error rate of 10^-3 and a slight range increase for long-haul transmissions.
